Our Story

I was a creative and curious child, always looking for beauty and light… The projects story begins in my childhood. I would walk in Jerusalem’s streets and look at the beautiful stone houses I loved the feeling they aroused in me. A timeless and stable feeling, massive and warm. It was my childhood landscape, only later I could call it architecture. Therefore, it didn’t surprise many that in my adulthood I decided to become an architect. I graduated from Tel Aviv University’s architecture school with honors.

One of the first things I learned in architecture school is that light is one of the most important materials in architecture (and in art in general). My studies strengthened my love for aesthetics, proportions and making. As well as my love for natural and timeless materials like light, wood and stone. Throughout my school years and to this day, I am amazed at the ability to use natural and raw material to create a felling and an experience.

The ability of materials to create an experience is the subject of my research in Project R. I learned to use wood and how to process it in a way that preserves its natural beauty. I learned to use light. The encounter of the two was inevitable and created the lampshades. The lampshades created from wood and light can bring life to a home.

My lampshades are made in a unique technique and designed with a lot of thought about their role in space. The inspiration of their shapes is also from nature usually from flowers. Each lampshade is designed to perfection by countless attempts, in order to reach the perfect proportions and curves. In each lampshade you will see the natural beautiful woods defects and my loving and caring touch. Each lampshade demonstrates its presence in the room through the light and shadows it spreads in space.
